As a recently discharged patient of Dr. Theodore Wolfson, I am most grateful. He is knowledgeable and skilled in all aspects of the shoulder, is a patient, caring and professional surgeon, and just a great person! I’m an older, active woman referred to Dr. Wolfson for an injury which resulted in a displaced fracture of the humerus. At the initial visit and after reviewing test results, Dr. Wolfson felt surgery was not necessary. He was very willing to take the time to answer my numerous questions which allowed me to better understand the next steps, the healing process and be more active in my recovery. He described how the injury would heal with patience and later, PT – but he kept an eye on the fracture. Frequent x-rays confirmed that decision – healing was occurring without surgery. Two months of arm/shoulder immobility in a splint and two more months of PT, and my range of motion and strength are back to pre-injury.

Dr. Atanda seems to be a magician. I had spinal surgery on Nov 20th, 2023. He told me the pain the 1st week was going to be tough after surgery and he was right. He also said the pain would subside each day after… he was right. I’m feeling great. X-rays look great. Dr. Atanda also said I need to strengthen the core as I’m losing weight. He cares about his patients… it’s obvious… it helps during the whole process. Thank you Dr. Atanda!!! Special shout to Trish up front… she is very nice and was very helpful with CT family leave. First off Doc, I wanted to tell you that I’m feeling great. The back pain from my L-4, L-5 continues to be on a scale from 1-10, a 3! I now find myself realizing that after I get from point A to point B I don’t think so much about my back pain. Like you advised me, I’m not pain free, I never expected to be, but I’m a heck of a lot better now than I have been in years. The pain I have now I can live with. Thanks for taking care of me.

I am writing to bring to your attention the excellent experience I had recently with Dr. Theodore Wolfson.
My 99-year-old mother fell and badly broke her femur. Dr. Wolfson operated on her and I’m happy to report that, not even six weeks later, my mother is walking significant distances with no pain. Clearly, Dr. Wolfson’s surgical expertise is second to none.
However, what truly impressed me about Dr. Wolfson was the way he treated ME. Of course, he called me and laid out all of our options, along with the possible short- and long-term consequences of surgery. But he then gave me his personal cell phone number and encouraged me to call or text with any questions.
My mother decided on surgery. Over the course of the day, Dr. Wolfson called me numerous times to provide updates regarding the receipt of needed surgical instrumentation, and the probable time surgery would be scheduled. During all of these conversations, I never felt rushed by Dr. Wolfson-quite to the contrary.
When I received a call from the hospital about midway through the surgery, I was concerned. However, it was a surgical nurse calling me at Dr. Wolfson’s request to let me know that the surgery had started later than expected, everything was going according to plan, and Dr. Wolfson didn’t want me to worry.
I was so pleasantly surprised to have a doctor care so deeply about not just his patient, but also the patient’s family, that I felt you would want to know. I have had many, many experiences with doctors and hospitals over the years, and I have never been treated with such care and respect as I received from Dr. Wolfson. If he is the type of doctor being graduated from medical schools today, I’m thrilled!

But he made everything so easy and made sure that I felt comfortable before going into surgery. After my surgery I was worried about a scar but my foot healed up SO nicely!! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who needs a foot or ankle injury tended too. He is top notch and I wouldn’t see any other doctor!

I have been a patient of Dr. Ganal’s for almost a year due to some accident prone months.
I became a patient after suffering a femoral neck stress fracture. It wasn’t the easiest news to receive, but Dr. Ganal balanced professional matter of fact delivery with compassion. He treated me for four months until I was cleared. A few months later (much to my chagrin) I suffered a bimalleolar fracture (broke my tibia and ankle). Dr. Ganal performed my surgery to repair – and within 12 weeks it was almost as good as new. He would be my highest recommendation for any orthopedic injury. Extremely professional, very empathetic, and patient focused (he really listens to what his patients say).

I went in with severe right shoulder pain, wasn’t sure from what, maybe the dog tugging all week and my shoulder probably just gave in. I was not able to bring my arm up at all it was in so much pain. Dr. Ganal saw that there was no fracture, so prescribed me with the strongest anti inflammatory pill, and self exercises at home found on his website. Come Monday, I was able to bring my arm up and down with no pain. Bless you and thank you.

Dr. Paul performed spinal surgery on my husband about a year ago.
Obviously, we were a bit nervous, but Dr. Paul and his staff were absolutely amazing!
They walked us through every single part of the surgery, the individuals who would be in the room and their role and kept me updated the entire time. They took phenomenal care from beginning to end. Dr. Henshaw spent a great deal of time with my daughter and me explaining her diagnosis of her knee.
He was also very clear in explaining what he was going to do during her surgery.

We talked to my dad and my friend Tricia Gogliettino (who is a PT for ortho patients) and both recommended Dr. Lunt. After the office helped me work out some insurance concerns, I was able to make an appointment. I cannot tell you how much it set my mind at ease to know we were with the practice that everyone recommended! Dr. Lunt has EXCELLENT bedside manner! He was reassuring while also being direct and clear in his assessment of Liam. He answered all my questions and his “chill” demeanor made Liam very comfortable. Within the first moments of entering the exam room, Dr. Lunt noticed and pointed at my finger (which I broke last fall and had operated on in December) and asked what happened. This was something I had wanted to ask him about…I didn’t need to even be cagey or awkward…this guy knows digits and he even noticed mine from across the room! I highly recommend Dr. Lunt and the OrthoConnecticut practice.Dr. Aaron N. Insel is THE BEST doctor!

“I have been a patient with OrthoConnecticut – Coastal Orthopedics Dr. Michael Lynch for approximately 15 years. I suffer from severe OA (osteoarthritis) and a chronic knee condition in both knees. Dr. Lynch has helped me navigate pain management and through the use of Hyaluronic Acid injections, and thus far I have been able to stave off a knee replacement. His knowledge and vast experience have been a comfort in helping me make choices along the way.
In August of 2018, Dr. Mark Fletcher performed a life changing hip replacement at Norwalk Hospital. His immense experience and knowledge, the robotic technology available and the joint replacement wing at Norwalk Hospital made the procedure seamless. I went from excruciating pain and limited movement to a pain free and active lifestyle. I also took advantage of their ON SITE rehabilitation facility. The Physical Therapists are highly trained, patient and helped educate me in order to get me back to my daily activities quickly and easily.
Finally, Tanya has been an exemplary member of the OrthoConnecticut – Coastal Orthopedics family. She goes out of her way to help with scheduling the injections and dealing with the headaches of insurance companies. I ruptured my triceps muscle at the elbow (a very unusual injury) on April Fools Day ?
Dr Ciminiello performed the surgery and after 2 weeks in a cast I was fitted with a brace and started therapy. I was told that this type of injury required 9 to 12 months to heal and at 8 months I am 100%. Everyone, from the receptionists, therapists, PA and Dr. Ciminiello were a pleasure to work with. I was seen promptly at all of my appointments. Dr Ciminiello is extremely personable. I could not be happier with my experience and results. I highly recommend him.

I had a midafternoon (2:30pm) scheduled appointment. Showed up at 2:25pm and was called upon within 1 minute.
I was expecting 30-45 minute which is par for the course with most provider offices. Once in my appointed treatment room I saw my doctor within one minute. I was incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Ciminiello as my trauma surgeon when I slipped on black ice, resulting in 4 femur fractures and a broken hip.
Dr. Ciminiello miraculously put me back together again, following a complicated 8 hour surgery.
He and his assistant, Peter Ackerman worked diligently and painstakingly to realign my bones. After a 4-week stay in a rehab facility, I am happily and gratefully back to my regular activities and a full life once again. Dr. Ciminiello is brilliant, so incredibly capable, patient, and kind. He always greets you with a smile and tells you “like it is,” so that you know exactly what to expect and what your outcome is – but he is so gentle and kind in his consults that you are left very upbeat and positive. Thank Heaven for Dr. Ciminiello. He saved my life and got me back to living my life. If anyone should ever suffer any orthopedic issue or, Heaven forbid, endure a bone-break, you would be very, very fortunate to have Dr. Ciminiello as your orthopedic surgeon. I saw Dr. Joshua Frank in the Norwalk office for an injury that recently occurred.
I like how he explained what he was testing for when he did each movement with my arm.
It gave me a sense of relief – knowing issues were being ruled out. As he went through each testing movement, I could feel my concern easing up. I also like seeing my digital x-rays with the doctor. Instant visual proof of the condition! I went in terrified, and came out understanding what happened, and what I needed to do for it. That sense of calm is priceless! Staff is very nice, and helpful. The office is larger than it seems outside the building. Great parking. I highly recommend it.

It has been twelve weeks since I first visited OrthoConnecticut, and I can confidently say that they did all the right things.
Today, the arm that I fractured feels little to no pain and continues to improve everyday. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, responsive, kind, and excellent at walking through medical specifics with patients. While I’m sure all the doctors onsite are excellent, I’d recommend Dr. Soojian to anyone without hesitation!

Dr. Hochkeppel was very nice and explained everything so thoroughly.
He has a calming personality and I felt much better after my first visit.
I had a Cervical Epidural Injection with Dr. Hochkeppel and I was very anxious. He made sure I was sedated properly, and the procedure went much better than I could imagine and I would return for another if necessary without fear. The office is beautiful and run very well.

I am very pleased with the orthopedic care at OrthoConnecticut, including that of Dr. John Dunleavy.
Having researched every doctor, as a former ICU nurse, I was extremely impressed with his education, background and many successes in the field.
I am looking forward to a left knee replacement with Dr. Dunlevy in July. I have no doubt that it will be an excellent outcome and even at 85 years old I will be out of pain and continue caring for my 92-year-old husband.
I have been in severe pain with the knee for many years. I was unable to find the appropriate person to care for my husband while I am away at re-hab. I now have that person and look forward to a complete recovery.
A life without pain is something to look forward to.
I have complete confidence in Dr. Dunlevy’s experience in his field. He is very personable and is complete in his explanations of my x-rays and MRI’s, showing me every aspect of my particular problem how this particular procedure is done. He explained that I will be sent to a rehab facility to recover for two weeks. Then return home ready to return to a more normal pain free life.
