Philip Black has been a Physician Assistant at OrthoConnecticut since the end of 2018. He is working with Dr. Robert Deveney and Dr. John Dunleavy in hip and knee surgery. Prior to OrthoConnecticut, Philip worked as an Athletic Trainer and then pursued his Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Salus University.

Philip graduated from West Chester University (WCU) with a Bachelor if Science in Athletic Training. He then went on to graduate from the University of South Carolina (USC) with a Master of Science in Physician Education and after working for a few years as an Athletic Trainer decided to pursue his Masters of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies.

Philip has lived, worked and studied in Pennsylvania and South Carolina before joining us in Connecticut. He is an avid sports fan and was part of WCU Rugby while an undergraduate.
